Me? Well I'll just stick to the toys I can afford for the time being..
being upgraded to a Nikon D50 hopefully within a few months time..."ouch!
If anyone's wondering...thats actually a Canon EOS300 film SLR.
It's my trusty IXUS 30 thats been delivering the goods here..=)...Then again..
what you're seeing is Sam's IXUS 55 , a nice upgrade from the ol'30..slightly different
button placements, but identical functions/features ...with a few nice additions..

Took these shots last weekend, on one of the coldest days I've yet to encounter in Melbourne. Processed to B&W.

* credits to Rodney Rogers, though I am not totally convinced at his approach to composing this photograph(cropping out of the sky)- but I guess these instincts are hard to grasp when one lacks the experience and proper training. In the mean time, here it is. Black and white conversion via gradient map, followed by levels adjustment to bring out the details of the ground and brightening of the overall image. Gradient filter was then applied to darken the sky from the top and left edge to simulate the effect of an storm passing by.
